Francisco Borges, Research assistant

From a very young age I have been fascinated by the ocean, its beings and the intricate and
complex processes that keep make life possible in the sea and on this planet.
While I desired to have my own nature show at age 9 – following in the footsteps of the great
story tellers of BBC Wildlife - I soon realized that it is the scientists who get to have all the fun
and amazement, first hand.
I now study climate change and its effects on marine species, particularly of ocean
acidification, under the guidance of Rui Rosa and his wonderful team.
